Artlink Indigenous_Visualising Sovereignty is a powerful collection of essays which speak directly to our times and place. Guest editors Ali Gumillya Baker and Paola Balla have worked closely with established and emerging First Nations writers to celebrate their distinct experiences of Country, history, and creative practices. Both poetic and direct, these expressions of relational sovereignty, critical engagement, political autonomy and renewal and survival strategies draw on Tuscarora scholar Jolene Rickard’s theory of ‘visual sovereignty', applied to an Australia-Pacific context.
